In the Advancement Office at Worcester State University, we are deeply committed to promoting and supporting WSU’s mission of providing an accessible, high-quality education to our students. Our primary responsibility is to deliver a reliable stream of private funding to help fulfill this mission. We use the donations and grants we receive to create endowed student scholarships, underwrite student and faculty research and presentations at professional conferences, purchase state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, enhance curriculum development, and more.
Our goal is to build a culture of philanthropy, pride, and trust through meaningful engagement and communications that reflect the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and passion for Worcester State. We foster lasting relationships with alumni, foundations and corporations, students, and parents of students. We also produce the Worcester State alumni magazine and the annual President’s Report.

Department: University Advancement
- As the University’s Chief Advancement Officer, manages the Division of University Advancement, overseeing its annual budgets and serving as the division’s liaison to the Board of Trustees
- Works with University colleagues to develop and execute a fundraising plan that supports the University’s strategic plan by identifying areas of greatest student, faculty and institutional needs, and developing cultivation and solicitation plans for private philanthropy in support of said initiatives
- Responsible for all operations of the Worcester State Foundation Board of Directors, serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet, and is a University representative in various government and community activities, programs, and initiatives

- Oversees the management of all Alumni Relations and Development staff
- Works with University colleagues to develop and execute a fundraising plan that supports the University’s strategic plan by identifying areas of greatest student, faculty and institutional needs, and developing cultivation and solicitation plans for private philanthropy in support of said initiatives

- Manages the data quality and control of the Division’s 70,000-plus record database, including annual Colleague conversion of all graduates, imports of data upgrades, custom report building to support the Division’s activities, strategy and analysis, develop and prepare KPI reporting for staff, and maintaining the integrity of the financial data related to donors
- Leads prospect research, financial records and gift processing areas
- Manages the data integrity of the Alumni iModules online community database
- Verifies all gifts are following IRS and CASE policies and standards
- Serves on the University’s Data Quality, Campus Police Advisory Board and Scholarship committees
Department: Office of Grants & Sponsored Research, a division of University Advancement
- Primary contact for all activities for Grants and Sponsorship
- Develops and leads the foundation’s planned giving program
- Responsible for establishing long-term partnerships and strengthening existing relationships with the corporate and foundation sector that will result in grant funding for the immediate and long-term goals of the University
- Collaborates with members of the campus community to develop successful foundation and corporate grant strategies and proposals in support of the University’s mission and strategic plan

- Manages the Foundation-funded student scholarship program, including the online application and tracking process, and the awarding of scholarships
- Provides administrative support to senior divisional staff, for various donor events, and is the contact for the annual donor-funded Next Big Idea Contests

- Oversees the Annual athletic & Worcester State Foundation Golf Tournament

- Manages the balancing of all Foundation funds
- Maintains and provides all financial reporting for Worcester State Foundation.
- Oversees Foundation annual audit
- Assists the Director in upholding policies and GAAP standards in all gifts processed

- Assists the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement with the planning and execution of all alumni events and programs, with a leadership role in the Class Agent Program, Homecoming, Athletic Hall of Fame, and affinity-based alumni activities
- Manages the Worcester State University online alumni community
- Liaison to the Alumni Association’s Advisory Board and its sub-committees

- Develops and oversees a comprehensive stewardship plan annually
- Develops and oversees annual giving plan
- Assumes a leadership role in donor recognition events.
- Assists with alumni-related events and programming in an effort to develop relationships to move from engaged alumni to alumni donors

- Manages appeals calendar, crowdfunding campaigns, department initiatives, and all annual giving appeals
- Plans and implements campus-wide giving days and philanthropy events

- Manages all constituent research requests and creation of prospect profiles
- Produces high-quality reports to help fundraisers develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for their donors
- Performs ongoing data maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge database, ensuring accuracy and integrity on biographical and educational information

- Responsible for daily processing of Foundation gifts
- Performs daily updates of constituent records
- Assists the Director in maintaining the integrity of the constituent database and creating ad hoc reporting

- Manages the input and balancing of all Foundation funds
- Assists with processing gifts, financial reporting, and the annual audit

- Manages budget processing for the Division of University Advancement as well as any Campaign budget related processing
- Manages the University “Fund 6” accounts, tracking balances and processing donations and acknowledgements
- Processes Foundation related expenses

- Coordinates and supervises Advancement’s annual Phonathon
- Each year, student callers phone more than 15,000 alumni from around the country to inform them of the great activities going on at the University and to seek support for The Worcester State Fund

- Administrative assistant to the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement and the main receptionist for the Division of University Advancement
- Oversees and manages our Lifetime Lancers Student Alumni Association as well as our Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand Alumni Council
