Help people overcome barriers to communication.
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Minor was designed for those students who may be interested in applying to a graduate program in speech-language pathology or audiology.
With this minor, you will learn processes of communication and how they can break down. You will also explore typical and nontypical development and the diagnosis and treatment of disordered communication. You will develop the ability to think critically, evaluate data, engage in scientific reasoning, and write and present professionally, and you will be equipped to attend graduate school or start your career in public health, education, business, or private practice. Whether you want to work alongside an autistic child, help students learn to read in the classroom, treat a stutterer seeking therapy, or help individuals stay part of the conversation as they age, this degree will help you achieve your goals.
