CLUB E—CLUB EDUCACION

Club Educación (Club E) is an English as a Second Language (ESL) program designed exclusively for adults that aims to enhance their English language proficiency, empowering them to further develop their self-confidence and function independently in predominantly English-speaking environments. The program employs a structured approach to improve the English communication skills through reading, grammar, writing, and conversational lessons and  interactive activities. With four different ESL levels, students take an English proficiency assessment to determine their appropriate class level

While the primary focus of Club E is enhancing English fluency, it also offers secondary benefits by developing soft skills and self-confidence. Beyond classroom learning, Club E places great emphasis on fostering meaningful connections to real-world experiences. Club E collaborates with local partners and organizations, creates meaningful connections, offers guest speakers on various topics, career fairs for networking with hiring agencies, and public speaking workshops. These real-life experiences further support the learners’ overall well-being and economic progress.

Additionally, Club E collaborates with the Community-Based Learning Program at the College of The Holy Cross and numerous other organizations, providing invaluable reinforcement and support to all students.

EARLY COLLEGE

The Early College Worcester Program (ECW) is a secondary/post-secondary partnership involving Worcester Public Schools (WPS), Quinsigamond Community College (QCC), and Worcester State University (WSU).

This program enables WPS high school students to participate in college and career readiness activities and college credit course offerings. The activities and courses are offered at the high school or on the QCC or WSU campuses. Students earn college and high school credits at the same time and can graduate from high school with a high school diploma and at least 12 college credits.

The goals of the ECW program are to increase the percentage of students who are college ready, receive a high school diploma, enroll in college in the fall, and persist in college.

“My favorite thing about the Early College program was all the fun dancing and fun things we got to learn about Early College and stuff that we learned about Worcester itself!”
