Worcester State University’s Information Technology staff is dedicated to providing technology deployment, support, and training that will help you enrich the educational experience of students. Below is information about some popular faculty and staff services:

When you join the Worcester State faculty, your Worcester State Network Use Account will be created automatically. New employee information is entered into our Colleague (SID/SIS) database by Employee Services. Within 24 hours, this information will be used to generate a user account, which you will need to access any of Worcester State network systems, including Blackboard, Worcester State Gmail, WebAdvisor, campus computer network, and other network database systems.
While we can’t provide password information over the phone or via email, you can look up and reset your information by using the online password reset application. Please note that it’s very important that you read through all the instructions.
You also may visit the IT Help Desk on the 3rd floor of the Learning Resource Center. OneCards are required to process in-person password-reset requests, so bring your OneCard ID with you.

You can access your student Worcester State Gmail account via gmail.worcester.edu. Your Worcester State Gmail is an official means of communication for Worcester State. It is important for you to check this account frequently. Visit Worcester State Google Apps training for more information.

Blackboard is Worcester State’s online learning management system. Blackboard course shells are automatically created for each course taught at Worcester State. Faculty can use it to post course syllabi, lecture materials, homework materials, grades, and more. Blackboard enables faculty to manage student discussion boards, blogs, and/or journals. Its email functionality lets you send a message to all the students in a class with a few clicks of your mouse. Access Blackboard via myWooState or by typing blackboard.worcester.edu into your Internet browser. Visit Blackboard Training to learn more.

There are more than 25 gigabytes of storage available in your Worcester State Gmail account for documents, email, calendar, sites, and more. Visit Worcester State Google Apps training for more information.

Self-Service is an application that allows you access to advising information, class rosters, grading, budget information, and more. As an employee, you can access Self-Service using the network login via myWooState or typing https://selfservice.worcester.edu/Student/Account/Login into your Internet browser.
