As a Public Health student in the Health Sciences Department at Worcester State University, you will develop into a dedicated practitioner or educator who is committed to wellness, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Through our challenging and supportive combination of coursework, field work, and faculty guidance, you’ll discover the importance of prevention strategies in improving health and well-being. You also will examine health inequalities and other emerging health challenges that impact both local and global communities. Your learning experience will incorporate technologies like smartphone applications for creating public service announcements and other health marketing techniques. You’ll have the opportunity to post research findings and create discussions about critical health topics on student-created blogs. Beyond the classroom, you’ll complete a semester-long fieldwork practicum at community organizations in Worcester and beyond.
