Graduate Commencement & Hooding

Worcester State University’s 2024 Graduate Commencement & Hooding ceremony will be held on:

Friday, May 17, 2024 – 6:00pm

Worcester State University Wellness Center

The ceremony begins at 6:00pm with the procession starting at 5:40pm.  All guests MUST be seated no later than 5:30pm.

Before Commencement arrives, there are a few things you will need to do before you can graduate.

Cap and Gown Purchase

Order your cap and gown online at buildagrad.com/worcestermaster (Check back for dates cap and gown can be purchased). All graduates must have a Masters or Ed.S. cap, gown, and hood to participate in the ceremony. The cost is $27.24 for Master’s degree graduates and $27.89 for graduates in the Ed.S. program. All cap and gown orders that are shipped to Worcester State University will not be charged a shipping fee, otherwise there will be a $12.95 delivery charge.

Cap and Gown orders shipped to Worcester State University will be available for pick-up (Dates TBA) in the Office of Graduate & Continuing Education, Administration Building, 4th Floor; a photo ID is required for pick-up. Contact the Graduate Office at 508-929-8127 if you will be requesting an authorized person to pick up your cap and gown. A photo ID will be required by all individuals picking up orders.

Join us for a celebratory reception immediately following the commencement ceremony, where graduates and their esteemed guests can continue the festivities in style. Indulge in an array of light refreshments–it is a perfect opportunity to mingle, reminisce, and savor the joyous moments of achievement together. Let's raise a glass to the graduates and toast to their bright futures ahead!

Commencement Photography

The Grad Team, professional photographers, will be on hand to photograph your special moment as you cross the stage and are congratulated by President Maloney. They will provide portrait photographs of each graduate as well as candid photos of the graduating class. Don't miss out on these special memories.

Commencement Keepsakes

Celebrate your college days and relish your achievement with Worcester State memorabilia that will last a lifetime. Our University Advancement office offers many keepsakes for you or your loved one. Each item is meticulously crafted in the highest quality. The items below can be ordered by contacting the Alumni Office at 508-929-8141. Diploma frames and other gifts and collectibles can be purchased through the Worcester State Bookstore.

NO BAG POLICY

Small wristlets of a MAXIMUM SIZE of 8×10 inches will be permitted. Medical bags & diaper bags will be allowed and will be checked prior to entry. All other bags, such as cross-body, larger totes, backpacks, duffle bags, etc. will NOT be permitted.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

Helium balloons, signs, flags and noise makers are prohibited.
