Bio
As a professor, I believe in the need to apply what you learn. To add that practical application to the classroom, I draw from my experience working with Governor Michael Dukakis to promote his drug education program, in employee communications for a large retail chain, in the technical field promoting equipment in surface mount technology, and later, in my own consulting firm, working with small businesses to market and promote their services and products.
Currently, I apply marketing and PR skills in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Worcester State, promoting its art, music and theatre events — all of which are open to the public.

Different from essay and report writing, PR writing grabs attention and keeps the message clear, concise and interesting. Students will learn the specifics of writing a PR message, the meaning of style and flow as it pertains to PR writing, and the importance of grammar and word choice in writing. While learning these writings skills, students will be introduced to and write basic PR tools such as news releases, features stories, blogs, and more.
