Bio

Jacquelyn Raftery-Helmer’s program of research examines the influence of contextual factors on youth resilience and mental health. She uses this knowledge to aid community-based efforts to promote mental health in youth and families. Specifically, she is interested in parental and motivational processes that influence youth adjustment. One of her goals is to translate knowledge in this area to treatment development and testing, by identifying ways to modify interventions so that they directly target parental and motivational factors found to protect against the development and/or maintenance of psychopathology in youth.
