Preventing Waste
19% of residence hall waste collected at the end of each semester is diverted from landfills by our move out donation drive called “Ditch the Dumpster”.
Smart Energy
Worcester State is helping to support two solar fields totaling 6.5 megawatts—the equivalent of taking 566 vehicles off Massachusetts roads—by purchasing net metering credits.

Rainwater Collection
Our Wellness Center roof collects rainwater and stores it in a 20,000 gallon tank for campus landscaping needs.
Worcester State has its own Stormwater Management Program run in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
Green Transportation Options
Bike share – Bikes available for the campus community to borrow at no charge.
Responsible Food Choices
We grow hydroponic lettuce and herbs inside a shipping container. Vegetarian and vegan choices. New paper (not plastic) straws.
