Contraception and Pregnancy Options
You may schedule an appointment with a nurse practitioner to talk about an entire range of family planning, no matter where you are on the spectrum from never having had sex, wanting a child and needing prenatal care, to wanting to avoid parenthood. We are happy to discuss all of your options.
Confidential Pregnancy testing is available at Health Services, urine or blood-based. Pregnancy options counseling is also available with our medical providers to discuss all pregnancy options including referral for prenatal care, abortion or adoption.
You may schedule an appointment with a nurse practitioner to talk about birth control. Options we can prescribe for you include oral contraceptives, Depo-Provera, the Vaginal Ring or the Patch. If you are interested in an IUD or implant, we can refer you to a local clinic that can insert them. Free condoms are available in our office.
Emergency Contraception: Plan B and Ella are sold at Health Services during normal business hours at a reduced rate. You must schedule an appointment to purchase.
Worcester State University has partnered with Massachusetts Planned Parenthood (PPLM) in Worcester, in pursuant to Chapter 127 of the Massachusetts Acts of 2022, to provide and manage referrals for Medication Abortions (which can be taken up to 11 weeks of pregnancy). PPLM provides in-person and telehealth abortion services in compliance with all PPLM policies and Massachusetts state laws. Patients looking to book this service for non-urgent assistance can call, 800-258-4448 or utilize PPLM’s website for online scheduling, Planned Parenthood-Worcester PPLM also provides Patient Navigation Services; including assisting with urgent needs related to gestational limits, funding for transportation, cost of care and any other barriers a patient may face.
