At Worcester State University, we understand that professional development in business and education is a multifaceted challenge. Long-term programs that lead to major career stepping-stones are not the only way to enhance your own capabilities or those of your workforce. That is why, in addition to our numerous graduate certificate and licensure programs for educators, and certificate programs in other professions, we offer a range of specialized short courses and seminars geared toward workforce development and the advancement of public instruction through Worcester State’s centers and institutes.
Center for Effective Instruction
The Center for Effective Instruction at Worcester State has long been a hub for the graduate-level professional development of educators in the central Massachusetts area. The center sponsors the Central Massachusetts Principals’ Center, and partners with regional school districts and education collaboratives to help you build skills, expand your mind, and advance your career as a teacher or administrator.
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Continuing Education
Worcester State’s commitment to quality speech-language pathology education, applied learning, and research extends to our graduate-level professional development opportunities for area speech-language pathologists. The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department has achieved ASHA Continuing Education Board approval of its bi-annual continuing education program, ensuring that you can stay current in your field—and also work toward licensure renewal, ASHA certification renewal, or ASHA’s Award for Continuing Education. Continuing education units, instructional level, and content area will vary by program.
