Materials are printed in accordance with the Worcester State University Visual Identity Guidelines’ specifications for employees.
Also, Publications & Printing Services is unable to reproduce any material it deems in violation of Federal Copyright Law. The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research.” If a user makes a request for, and later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying request if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the copyright law.
Copyright also protects original “pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works,” which include two and three dimensional works of fine, graphic, and applied art. Examples of such works include, but are not limited to, graphics used in: Photographs, photomontages, posters, postcards etc. See additional information at: http://copyright.gov/circs/circ40.pdf. Graphics used in Worcester State copied/printed materials must be free of copyright issues and properly licensed. Requests to copy/print items, which ‘borrow’ graphics from alternate locations (e.g. internet, external printed materials) without securing copyright approval, will be denied until copyright approval form is completed.
