What We Do
The communications team tells the story of Worcester State University’s vision, achievements, and impact for our students, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, community partners, and the public. You can find our work published both digitally and online.
How We Can Help

Our team generates press releases and announcements, pitches stories to local and national outlets, responds to media inquiries and works with journalists. We also work proactively with faculty experts to position the university as a thought leader in key fields.

Got a story idea for us? We are always interested in stories about research and scholarship, faculty and student achievements, and university-community projects. We welcome human interest stories focused on students, alumni and faculty. We also routinely cover and photograph events that will be of interest to the general university community. Email us at news@worcester.edu with your story idea or to let us know about an event.

Our team works with university leadership and departments to help develop messaging about new initiatives, developments or programs. We also routinely review content to make suggestions and ensure it aligns with university standards. Our office is responsible for setting, updating and enforcing university editorial standards. Our university editorial style guide is a helpful tool for university content creators. If you do not find what you are looking for in the style guide, please contact Assistant Director Rebecca Cross at rcross@worcester.edu.
