Professor Julia A. McNeil, PhD(c), MSN/Ed, RN began her journey in nursing at Austin Peay State University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing in 2007. She completed her MSN at the University of Phoenix in 2010. She was inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, during her undergraduate studies.  She began her journey in the PhD program at UConn’s School of Nursing and is now in the dissertation phase of completion.

Member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island League for Nursing(MARILN). Volunteer faculty co-advisor for the Student Nurses Association(SNA).

Before entering the faculty role, Professor McNeil served as a staff nurse in critical care units across several states and was a critical care nurse educator for several years. She is married with 4 children and enjoys spending her free time with her family, camping, and reading! She is enthusiastic about education and enjoys teaching and preparing our future nurses.
