TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE MEDICAL PARKING

Policy

The University recognizes that from time to time there may be employee needs for parking close to their assigned building due to some temporary medical condition.  In those cases that are medically documented and guaranteed by a physician, the employee may request a temporary permit.

Procedure

When an employee requires such accommodation, they should request by providing official medical documentation showing a doctor suggested accommodation.  If the need for the accommodation is determined to be longer than 6 weeks, the employee must request a handicap Placard from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Guidance on Appeals

If the temporary permit is denied by the Director of Human Resources, the employee may appeal to their divisional Vice President
