Purpose:
This policy established guidelines for the acceptable use of non-supported wireless devices, such as cordless telephones, on campus.
Statement:
The College's wireless network is a shared campus resource and Information Technologies reserves the right to restrict the use of any wireless device that negatively impacts or interferes with campus wireless connectivity.
Description:
The College's wireless network is based on the FCC unlicensed 2.4GHz band. Certain wireless devices, such as cordless telephones, cameras, audio speakers, and projection devices, also may use this same band.
If such a device is found to interfere or with the campus wireless network, Information Technologies reserves the right to deny the use of such device anywhere on campus grounds.
Additional Information:
The College reserves the right to apply this policy to additional bands in the radio spectrum as necessary.
