Policies

Purpose:

To Ensure that IT personnel are evacuated safely from LRC in the event of a fire or other emergency.

Statement:

In the event that the LRC needs to be evacuated, proceed to the nearest exit and meet on the lawn located on the side of the garage adjacent to the LRC/Library.  Managers will evacuate UTS location(s) unless advised directly by University Police.

Description:

To all UTS staff and any visitors - if a fire alarm sounds in the LRC building, please do the following:

• If near your computer – quickly lock [(WINDOWS) Win+L/(MAC) ⌘+L] or shut down your computer
• If near your work area – quickly take your keys/wallet/purse/jacket –flashlight if needed etc.
• Closest Manager - remember to evacuate students from LRC310 lab.
• Exit the building to the 2nd floor through the nearest clear exit.
• Meet immediately on the lawn on the side of the Parking Garage nearest the LRC so that we can take a headcount and plan next steps.
