Student and Faculty Research

Worcester State University students enjoy a broad range of meaningful opportunities for hands-on research. Our excellent science labs, numerous field work projects, and collaborative partnerships with leading research institutions enable students to strengthen their foundation in the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.

Under the guidance of our exceptionally talented and dedicated faculty—many of whom have acquired national recognition in their field—undergraduate and graduate students can engage in research projects that range in scope from studying novel pharmacological therapeutics for melanoma cancers to exploring the feasibility of creating an urban arts district from Worcester’s brownfields.

In addition to working closely with their students, many WSU faculty are engaged in individual and collaborative research projects. Funders for faculty research have included the National Science Foundation, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

The University supports student and faculty research through its Faculty Mini-Grant Program and recognizes the important work of its faculty and students through its annual Celebration of Scholarship and Creativity.
