(Worcester, Mass.) -- The Fifth Annual Celebration of Scholarship and Creativity on Wednesday, April 18 promises to be bigger and better than ever. The event includes the following:

Student oral presentations in the Student Center, Blue Lounge beginning at 10 a.m.

Poster session from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Student Center, Blue Lounge and Exhibit Area

The first-ever Senior Thesis Show from 1 to 5 p.m. in The Gallery Ghosh Science and Technology Center, Room 113
-
Screening and panel discussion of the documentary Grandma’s Tattoos starting at 7:45 p.m. in the Ghosh Science and Technology Center, Auditorium, Room 102.
Oral presentation topics include “Expanding Educational Pathways in Computer Science – Peer Mentoring at WSU,” “Women and Drinking,” Blowing in the Wind: Persistent Plastic Bag Pollution Around Shopping Centers,” “History Moves In Spirals: Subsistence Technology and Social Movements,” and “The Failures of the Economic Embargo Against Cuba.”
The 92 posters, which present both undergraduate and graduate research, include “Biocompatibility Testing Using Vero Cells Cultured on Some Polyamide Polymers Filled with Nanoparticles,” “Small Business Sustainability and Performance Improvement,” “Ethics in Policing,” “Rate of Memorization—A Mathematical Model,” “Compulsive Hoarding and Public Health,” and “The Cost of Forever: Cemeteries, the Environmental Impacts of Interment and Green Alternatives.”
