Climate Commitment
Worcester State University joined more than 600 institutions nationwide that have pledged to become climate neutral by reducing greenhouse gas emissions on campus and promoting scholarship and research. President Maloney continues Worcester State University's commitment with the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), signed in 2007. Worcester State is one of 50 signatories of the ACUPCC in Massachusetts.
ACUPCC institutions have agreed to:
- Complete an emissions inventory.
- Within two years, set a target date and
interim milestones for becoming climate neutral.
- Take immediate steps to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions by choosing from a list of short-term actions.
- Integrate sustainability into the curriculum and make it
part of the educational experience.
- Make the action plan, inventory and progress reports
publicly available.
