During April of 2013 WSU installed a new Hydration Station on the first floor of the LRC. The new addition gives students and faculty more opportunities to refill their water bottles conveniently. The use of Hydration Stations will reduce the amount of plastic bottle waste on campus.
Worcester State University’s first hydration station was installed in the Sullivan Academic Center. Refilling reusable bottles is an easy way to do just one more thing that is sustainable.
Hydration Stations are able to keep track of how many disposable plastic bottles are diverted from landfills or recycling plants every time someone fills up their water bottle. So far, students and faculty have saved over 4,000 plastic water bottles in just 2 months! Our goal is to install a hydration station in every academic building on campus by the start of the fall semester in 2013.
