Position Information

MARKETING AND JOURNALISM INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR FALL AND WINTER The candidate has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of Marketing Research and Media Journalism at an established career school in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The applicant will work closely with the marketing director and supporting teams on a variety of marketing and media projects. The internship program is now available and has the potential for full time hire. Company is seeking to fill this internship position as soon as possible. (/P) Responsibilities: (/P) The internship experience asks the candidate to work as market researcher to measure and investigate the company’s competition. They will be required to gather specific and detailed information about competitor’s campuses, programs, advertising, events and basic operations. Some of the marketing candidate’s duties will include and are not exclusive to: portraying themselves as a prospective student to perform specific tasks in the research of the competition—such as visiting the prospective schools, retrieving in depth competitor information, attending events, recording all competitor advertising and providing detailed reports and feedback about the experiences and findings. The candidate may also be responsible for assisting in special projects and administrative assignments.(/P) This role will also include acting as a campus reporter. The candidate will be asked to attend the schools events and visit the various campuses to gather news worthy stories. They will be asked to conduct interviews, take journalistic photos, shoot/edit video, compile interesting stories for the company’s website, E-newsletter, and press releases to send to local news outlets etc. (/P) Requirements: (/P) Strong interest in marketing/ media journalism and a desire to further pursue a career in the field of Marketing/Communications. Must be outgoing with great people skills. Excellent written/oral communication and research skills are a must; computer experience in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel; good organizational skills and attention to details and deadlines. Enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learn; professional, ability to multi-task, flexible, accuracy and thoroughness are especially important. (/P) Hours: (/P) Appx. 20-hours a week / days and times negotiable. Some weekend days may be required. Moderate travel required throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Applicant must have a reliable source of transportation.(/P) Compensation: (/P) School credit; per diem agreement for gas and meals.
