Worcester State University
Center for Teaching & Learning

LEAP stands for "Liberal Education for America's Promise." It is an initiative of higher education best practices developed and promoted by the AAC&U. Worcester State is a LEAP University because our state public higher education system has committed, through the state Vision Project, to participate in the LEAP initiative and implement its elements in our university. A LEAP campus uses HIPs (High Impact Practices), adopts "Essential Learning Outcomes" and uses them in "Authentic Assessments," and practices "Inclusive Excellence." Our relationship to the LEAP program is fairly new, so we are still in the process of figuring out how these all work best in our community and how the LEAP goals and outcomes mesh with our LASC goals and outcomes.
