Current Initiatives 2011-2012
The Center is actively seeking applications from faculty/librarians in four different funding areas, and will publish ongoing news of the grants and the activities they generate on a new Faculty Commons website (http://wsufacultycommons.wordpress.com). All of these have rolling applications and quick turnaround on the funding and applications are being accepted now.
Davis Educational Foundation Grant for Integrative Learning ($240,000 from July 2011 to June 2014), with two current opportunities for faculty participation:
Collaborative Teaching Grants (CTG) offering $1000 stipends to faculty working in teams of 2-3 to integrate their courses.
Faculty Learning Communities (FLC) offering $1000 stipends to members of teams of 3-5 faculty who organize a "study group" to consider a learning topic, theme or problem.
A "Microgrant" Initiative for Faculty Development ($4000 for 2011-2012, renewable) - rewarding faculty creativity and initiative by providing small amounts of seed money (in the $100-500 range) for something a team of organizers can dream up. Funding provided by the Alden Endowment.
Undergraduate Research Funding (UR), providing summer research stipends to a faculty member and up to 2 undergraduate students ($3000 per person). Funding by the Strategic Planning Trust Fund & administered by Academic Affairs.
