Online Resources - Trends in Higher Education
National and Regional Trends: The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) is a national association promoting and supporting liberal education. They provide a wide variety of resources, programs, meetings and publications. In 2005 AAC&U launched an initiative regarding the importance of liberal education called Liberal Education and America's Promise (LEAP). Worcester State is part of the LEAP Campus Action Network comprised of institutions dedicated to advancing liberal education. In support of LEAP, AAC&U has developed the Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education (VALUE) project. This project has a series of VALUE rubrics available for download.
The New England Board of Higher Education has a journal, an annual conference, and other programs to support higher education excellence in our region.
News and Information: Inside Higher Ed and the Chronicle of Higher Education both provide news, opinions and advice to those working in the field of higher education. Additionally, The Teaching Professor provides a newsletter and conference as well as blogs on topics in higher education.
