Information Technologies is
responsible for the University's computing, network, and data resources.
Information Technologies' primary responsibility is to support the University in
achieving its mission and goals. Information Technologies provides service
and support for the following constituencies: students, faculty, staff,
consortium/commonwealth partners, the greater Worcester community, and
businesses in the private sector. A significant charge for Information
Technologies is to ensure the availability and support of hardware, software,
network, and communication resources for all of its constituencies.
Because IT is a critical component in virtually all operations of most
enterprises, Information Technologies also performs a significant strategic role
for the University. Information Technologies, in consultation with its
constituencies, evaluates emerging trends and technologies and assesses their
potential legal, security, and operational impact on the University.
