The Diversity Office works to create a campus environment and organizational culture that is indicative of the society and community that constitutes our service area and one that provides a climate for the success of every student and employee. The director is responsible for investigating complaints of discrimination as defined by both Federal and State law, to maintain an environment that is comfortable and conducive to learning and professional development. The director also provides written Affirmative Action and Equal Employee Opportunity Policies for the College community.
Other responsibilities of the director include community outreach to build awareness and encourage support for the College. In collaboration with student organizations, faculty and campus committees, the director sponsors and coordinates events, programs, and experiences to enrich the learning experience and help both students and employees reach their optimum potential. Sensitivity training addressing Title VII and Title IX of the Civil Rights Law is provided through the Diversity Office.
The Diversity Office is located in Room 107 in the Administration Village. All members of the College community are encouraged to contact the Director concerning any concerns or comments that they have.
