Biology: The faculty in the life sciences offer courses and programs to provide for the general education of students and preparation of the major and minor in Biology. A program leading to the Master of Science in Biotechnology degree is also available. The biology courses School of Education, Health and Natural Sciences may be supplemented with courses in nuclear medicine technology, administrative studies, health education, sports medicine and public health biology. Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society in biology, is available to distinguished majors.

Biotechnology: Worcester State University offers a program in biotechnology to meet the need for skilled laboratory associates in the experimental laboratory and in manufacturing facilities of the biotechnology industry. Biotechnology graduates are trained in tissue culture, molecular biology, protein purification, analytical chemistry, regulatory affairs and are eligible for internships.
Graduates are qualified for careers in research and development, quality assurance, quality control, and manufacturing as well as for further (graduate) education.
The Biotechnology major is sponsored jointly by the departments of Biology and Chemistry. Curriculum & Courses
